The Bauhaus was established in 1919 and founded in the city of Weimar. It was discovered by a modernist architecture, Walter Gropius. The Bauhaus’ purpose was to recreate our industrialized world into a modernised art form. At first, it was an arts and crafts school to educate students to influence them to become designers who will create efficient objects. The areas of design Bauhaus influenced were the architecture, design, art, sculpture and new media. It influenced rational designs, which was using geometric shapes and primary colours. The design styles that influenced the Bauhaus were modern architecture, the English Arts and Crafts and constructivism. It was influenced by several artists that created machines that were effective.
The Bauhaus moved to Dessau in 1932 as well as they were forced to move to Berlin in September 1932. This was caused by the school’s funding was cut drastically so it had to seek a new home. However at the time they moved to Dessau the economy fortunes were rising and the school became funded by the government. Then the Bauhaus was forced to move when the Nazi became the biggest party. The Bauhaus planned to move to Berlin.
